We are delighted to confirm five of our title-winning U20 Development squad have signed first team contracts with the club.
Goalkeeper Max Clarke, left back Coby O’Brien, midfielder Adam Smith, attacker Martin Smith and striker Connor Hamilton will all make the step up this summer.
Bankies boss Gordon Moffat explained: “Since we have come to the club, we have been big advocates of bringing the young guys through at the right time and they have all done really well to earn themselves a contract.
“Max Clarke had a really strong season in the development squad and featured on the bench towards the end of the season, and will be one of a couple who could go out on loan this season for some first team action.”
“Coby O’Brien at left back is tenacious, very good on the ball, bombs forward and is everything I look for in a full back. He’s a very similar mould to Oisin, who has obviously done very well this season.
“Adam has been in and around our training for quite a while now and played a few games where you can see the quality he has. He’s very comfortable with the ball and goes and takes it off the back four, which is really good.
“Martin Smith is a bit of a flair player, and obviously came on in the Bonnyton game at home to score the winner, and has that something different. He’s got that bit of trickery and is very quick, so he will be a good addition.
“Connor Hamilton speaks for himself in the amount of goals he has scored at U20 level. He cleaned up at the Player of the Year awards a few weeks ago and has been much sought after, and we want to give Hammy that opportunity.”
