We can confirm that attacking duo Ben McLernan and Connor Higgins are set to head out on loan.
Ben joins Renfrew until January, while Chig heads to Petershill on a short term basis as the pair look to get first team experience and match fitness respectively.
The moves come in anticipation of striker Ciaran Mulcahy’s forthcoming departure in a few weeks, with the forward set for a move down under to Australia.
Bankies boss Gordon Moffat explained: “Ben is a similar situation to Calum McEwan, he did the full pre-season with us and we’ve got him to the point where he needs a run of starts at West level. He’ll go into Renfrew until January, and we’ve seen the benefits of that sort of move before with Oisin who is a good example of what can happen. We’ve high hopes for Ben, and we hope he can go and do well at Renfrew until the turn of the year.
“With Connor, it’s a wee bit different. He had a calf injury and only played half an hour throughout the whole of pre-season, so we need minutes for Connor. He’ll go there for six or seven games until the end of September, which ties in nicely for us at the point where Ciaran will make his move abroad. We want to get Connor up to speed for the challenges ahead after that.”
