Clydebank FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender David Syme.
The 27-year-old centre back joins us on a three year deal from Darvel, where he was club captain and guided them to a cup double last season.
Having come through the youth academy with Kilmarnock, David then turned out for Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers and Cowdenbeath in the SPFL ranks before joining Troon in 2018.
A move to Kilwinning Rangers followed, where he spent four years and amassed over 100 appearances, before signing for Darvel in 2022.
Bankies boss Gordon Moffat commented: “One of the key things this summer was to make sure we were bringing in quality additions in certain areas of the pitch, guys with experience to help the squad.
“With the signings we have brought in we have already done that, and bringing in David is another key one.
“I’ve said all summer that we need to be patient and bring in the right guys at the right time with quality, and David has those qualities in abundance.
“He’s a natural leader, he’s strong, aggressive but also very good on the ball so he will fit in perfectly to how we play and will be a key addition for the season.”
