We’re delighted to announce both James Grant and Ciaran Mulcahy have committed their long term futures to the club, both signing two year contract extensions.
First team manager Gordon Moffat commented: “It’s really positive news. We’ve got a large nucleus of the group signed up already and now we add Ciaran and Jimmy to that. Both have been excellent players for us this season and it’s great to have both with us for another two years.
“Jimmy can obviously play both at left and right back, and is equally comfortable off either foot which is a huge plus for me as a manager to have. We have also seen he can go in and play that number six role in sitting midfield. He’s a fantastic player and fantastic boy so we’re delighted to have him for another couple of seasons.
“Ciaran has been with us a good period of time now and is just brilliant at what he does at this level. It speaks volumes for him as a person that he has been willing and wanting to play through injury for us this season. To have him as well as Keir Samson – two fantastic number nines at this level – means we can bring them in and out depending on game plan and opponents.
The nature of how easy those conversations were probably speak volumes not for me, but for the dressing room and the culture those guys have fostered themselves. They want to stay part of that, so it’s fantastic.”
