We are delighted to announce experienced defender Jamie Darroch has agreed to take on a player-coach role with the club.
The 34-year-old has signed a two year deal to take his stay with the club into double figures, and will see him combine his playing commitments with assisting the backroom team.
Jamie said: “It was good of the club to offer the two year contract, and at this stage of my career it just made sense.
“It looks a bit different this year with it being entitled ‘player-coach’. On the face of it that sounds different, but the first bit of it is very much player focused and I’ll be coming in for pre-season to be as fit as possible to put myself in the team for the first game of the season.
‘It is also with a view to the future and staying in the game, so I’m really thankful to the club and gaffer that I’ve got the opportunity to look at different parts to see where I want to head in the future.
“I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather learn from than the gaffer, Gaz, Kirky, Drew and big Phil.”
As part of the backroom enhancements Drew Marshall will, in addition to his current role, be leading on opposition analysis and player scouting.
